Frequently asked questions
Can one policy cover a group travelling together?
A group policy can include multiple travellers, but cover applies only to travellers who are included on the policy and shown as having paid the premium, with their name appearing on the policy documentation. Terms and conditions apply. Eligibility criteria and exclusions apply.
What ages can be included on group cover?
Age limits apply. For Single Trips, the maximum age limit for benefits is 80 years inclusive. For Annual Multi Trips, the maximum age limit for benefits is 70 years inclusive. Children are covered up to age 18 inclusive, or 23 inclusive if in full time education at the start of the trip. Terms and conditions apply.
Do you cover travel in the UK as well as abroad?
UK cover can apply, but conditions apply. The policy is valid for travel within your country of residence where you have at least 2 nights of pre booked accommodation or pre booked transport at least 50 miles from your home. Cover depends on the level selected. Eligibility criteria and exclusions apply. Terms and conditions apply.
How long can we travel for on an annual policy?
Annual Multi Trip policies cover multiple trips within the period of cover, but each trip has a maximum duration which depends on the level selected and is shown on your policy certificate. Plus policies allow trips up to 31 days, and Premium and Premium+ policies allow trips up to 45 days. Terms and conditions apply.

How to make a claim on your group travel insurance
Hopefully your trip stays firmly in the “great memories” category. But if something goes wrong, here’s the simple way to start a group travel insurance claim and get the right team involved from the start.
1) If it’s a medical emergency, call AXA straight away
For medical emergency, medical expenses, repatriation, or evacuation claims, contact AXA immediately on their 24-hour emergency assistance line: +44 203 0931749.
2) For most travel claims (anything except gadgets), use AXA
If you need to claim for something travel-related (excluding gadget claims), submit your claim via the AXA Claims Portal, or call AXA on +44 203 0931749.
3) For gadget claims, contact loveit coverit
If your claim relates to a gadget, let the loveit coverit team know as soon as you can. Have your policy number, email address, and a clear summary of what happened ready to share.
- Email: gadgetclaim@loveitcoverit.com
- Phone: 0300 3030445
4) What to prepare (helpful for groups)
Whether you’re travelling as a couple or a bigger group, claims usually move more smoothly when everyone pulls together on the paperwork. A good starting point is:
- Booking invoice(s) and travel documents showing the travel dates and booking date
- Original receipts, accounts, and any invoices or bills you’ve been asked to pay
- Details of any other insurance that may also cover the incident
- Any documents that support what happened (for example, proof of ownership for lost, stolen, or damaged items)
Depending on the type of claim, you may also be asked for specialist evidence. For example, medical claims often need receipts and a medical report, and theft claims typically need a police report made within 24 hours of noticing the item(s) missing.
Expectation setting: claims are assessed in line with the policy terms, including conditions, exclusions, and limits.
