Things to do in Disneyland California, America

Of course, Disneyland is the most magical place on earth and there is endless fun to be had. Even if you have people in your group that aren’t big fans of rides, there are plenty of other cool attractions to take a look at. Whether that’s discovering the different lands, especially the new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, which is superbly designed, or enjoying the various play parks and smaller activities, such as Tom Sawyer’s Island. Here are some of the top rides, food, and experiences to have at Disneyland California.

Take a walk around this wonderful with our travel insurance team’s top things to do whilst visiting the American city.

Meeting the Characters

A Disneyland trip wouldn’t be complete without meeting your childhood heroes and Friends. Have you ever dreamed about becoming a Disney princess? Web-Slinging with Spiderman? Flying the Millennium Falcon or meeting the Mouse himself.

There is nothing more magical than meeting a childhood hero!

For exact Disney Character Meet and Greet Opportunities details (like times), be sure to pick up a Times Guide or check the My Disney Experience app or website.  In addition, if you are looking for a specific character, make sure to ask at Guest Relations, as you never know who could potentially be out greeting guests.

Explore the lands

Disneyland has a land for everyone, Disneyland theme park in California is one of America’s best-known theme parks. If you haven’t been there yet, you are missing out on a lot of fun-filled rides and activities! It may come as a surprise to you, but there are at least nine lands within the entire Disneyland theme park, covering a total of 100 acres, which is equivalent to at least 76 football fields. The place is enormous! Here are the nine lands that make up the 100 acres of the theme park.

  • Adventureland
  • Frontierland
  • Fantasyland
  • Tomorrowland
  • New Orleans Square
  • Critter Country
  • Mickey’s Toontown
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Catch the Parades

One of the most magical parts of a visit to Disneyland is watching an energetic Disneyland parade! Disneyland is known for its amazing entertaining live parades filled with Disney characters, themed floats, amazing music, and talented performers.

Jump on the Disney Rides

There is plenty of rides for everyone, everything from Thrill-Seeking rides such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Space Mountain, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

If thrill-seeking isn’t your thing, here is a list of rides that could be more your thing, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Jungle Cruise and It’s a Small World.

Take a walk down Main Street

We love Main Street, U.S.A. Consistently ranked among the best lands at Disneyland Resort and replicated at Disney Parks around the world, the original Main Street is incomparable. This land is your introduction to Disneyland park, the “opening credits” of your day at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Main Street, U.S.A. is as old as Disneyland itself. Though this area has undergone some changes throughout the past six decades, it still remains the whimsical, turn-of-the-century, charming street that Disney fans have always known it to be. D23 notes that Walt Disney himself wanted this area of Disneyland to present an “idealized town at the turn of the century.” Inspired by Walt’s childhood, this street uses forced perspective to seem larger, and the windows honor those who played an instrumental role in the creation of the first Disney Park.
